Concrete Driveway Cost in Perth: 2026 Price Guide

Pricing

A new concrete driveway is one of the bigger outdoor spends on a Perth home, and quotes can vary a lot for what looks like the same job. This guide sets out what driveways cost in 2026, what pushes the price up or down, and how to compare quotes. The ranges come from published 2026 Perth price guides. Your quote depends on your site, so use them as a budget, not a price.
Concrete is priced per square metre, supplied and laid. The finish is the biggest single factor:
Plain concrete is the cheapest because it is poured and finished in one visit. Exposed aggregate needs the surface washed off the day after the pour, and stamped or stencilled finishes add labour on pour day. That is where the extra cost comes from.
A single-car driveway from the garage to the boundary is often around 40 m². At the rates above:
Those figures are before any of the extras below. Liquid limestone is priced here for comparison, but it suits pool surrounds and paths better than a driveway that takes daily vehicle traffic.
If the slab is sound, resurfacing can cost around half as much as replacing it. Published Perth guides put an aggregate overlay at about $50 to $100 per m², which is roughly $2,000 to $4,000 for a 40 m² driveway, against about $4,000 to $6,000 for a new exposed aggregate pour before removal. Sealing on its own is about $8 to $18 per m², and a clean-and-seal on a double driveway is commonly quoted at about $1,300 to $1,600. Resurfacing only works on a sound base: moving cracks, lifted panels or root damage will show through an overlay within a few years.
A crossover on its own is commonly quoted at about $1,800 to $3,500, and a full single-car crossover and driveway installed at about $4,900 to $7,000 including council permit fees of roughly $200 to $400. Some councils pay a contribution towards a first crossover. The City of Joondalup lists $375 for plain grey concrete, the City of Cockburn $500, the City of Wanneroo up to half the cost to a cap of $1,329.30, and the City of Stirling uses a formula based on the crossover length. Amounts and conditions change, so check your council before you build.
The same per-square-metre logic applies to other concrete work around the house. Published 2026 Perth guides put a 200 m² house slab on a class A site at around $19,000 to $30,000 for supply and pour, with site works, fill and a soil test of $500 to $1,200 on top. Grind-and-seal floors run about $79 to $135 per m², and a mechanically polished floor about $170 to $210 per m².
Two quotes can be far apart because they do not include the same work. Check each one for:
The cheapest quote often leaves out base preparation or joints, and those are the parts that decide whether a driveway lasts.
Most residential driveways take a few days: removing the old surface and preparing the base, setting formwork and mesh, then the pour. Exposed aggregate adds a wash-off the next day. Allow about a week after the pour before driving on it.
It costs more up front, but it hides stains and tyre marks, gives better grip on slopes and does not need a coloured coating to look good. On a driveway you see every day, many owners find it worth it.
You can, with care. Above about 32°C the surface dries faster than it can be finished, so summer pours are best booked for early morning, shaded straight away and cured for at least a week.
